Remember the Houston Heights Association Monthly meeting is held on the second Monday of each month. Meeting are held at the Fire Station, at the corner of Yale and 12th Streets.

First Saturday Arts Market -
a Monthly Outdoor Fine Arts Event

Houston's monthly outdoor fine arts event is back Saturday, February 6 at 548 W. 19th Street at Lawrence. The artists are sure to entice patrons with all manner of heart themed paintings, fine handcrafted jewelry and Valentines ammo to pull the heartstrings of lovers. Original paintings, photography, metal and wood sculptors, jewelry that is made and designed by the artists are all handmade from silver, glass, stone, fine gems to clay and even paper.

Come out and stretch your legs biking to the Farmer’s Markets of Houston to shop for local organic produce! Hop on your bike and let’s take a ride through the side streets, trails, and residential areas in the heart of Houston. This is a very social ride and all levels of riders are welcome. We will start the morning off with coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise through 2-3 markets to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies! March 2012 Events:
Mardi Gras Celebrations
We're excited about bringing Mardi Gras to Houston! With more than 200,000 former New Orleans residents and an active festival culture living in the Houston area, this event is sure to rival the original celebration with a style and flavor that is distinctly Texas.

This event, which is held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 4pm-10pm in the heart of downtown Houston, will feature vibrant floats, N’awlings-style music, dazzling performers and a black tie masquerade gala.

Various live bands and street entertainment include Zydeco, Second Line and other N’awlings style music. Admission is free and activities are family oriented.
